Mold remediation that fixes the moisture behind it.
Mold grows where water has been. For mold remediation, NJ homeowners call us to remove the affected materials, deal with the leak or dampness that caused it, and rebuild the space so it stays dry.

Mold remediation NJ: start with the water problem
Mold needs moisture to grow. A slow plumbing leak, a damp basement, a bathroom without enough ventilation or drywall that got wet and was never dried out properly can all give it what it needs. Cleaning the surface without fixing the moisture usually means it comes back.
Our mold remediation work focuses on both halves of the problem. We find the affected areas, remove moldy drywall, insulation, carpet and other porous materials that can't be cleaned, and address the leak, drainage problem or humidity that caused it. Then we rebuild with new materials.
The photo on this page is a real piece of drywall we removed during a remediation job. Mold like this often grows on the back side of walls, where you can't see it until the wall is opened.
The EPA’s guide to mold, moisture and your home and the EPA's page on mold cleanup in your home both make the same point we do: fix the moisture or the mold comes back. That's the core of our mold remediation NJ work.

How we handle mold.
Careful, contained work, followed by a proper fix so the problem doesn't return.
Find affected areas
We look for visible growth, staining, odors and the moisture source behind it.
Isolate the work area
The affected area is sectioned off to limit the spread of spores and dust to the rest of the house.
Take out affected materials
Moldy drywall, insulation, carpet and other porous materials are removed and bagged.
Treat remaining surfaces
Framing and other surfaces that stay are cleaned and treated.
Stop the moisture
Leaks are repaired and drainage or ventilation problems addressed so it doesn't come back.
Close it back up
New drywall, flooring, trim and paint by our remodeling crew.
Mold-related work we take on.
Mold is rarely just mold. Most mold remediation NJ jobs we see come with water damage or drainage problems, and we handle those in the same project.
- Basement mold, finished or unfinished
- Bathroom and laundry-room mold from leaks or humidity
- Removal of affected drywall, insulation and carpet
- Cleaning and treatment of framing
- Repair of the leak or moisture source
- Drywall replacement and finishing
- Flooring, trim and interior painting
- Related waterproofing and French drains
The repair is where it becomes an upgrade.
After remediation, the rebuilt room can be better than the one it replaced, with materials and ventilation chosen for a space that stays dry.
Because our remodeling crew does the rebuild, you're not handing the job to a second company halfway through. The person who saw the damage is the person who puts the room back together, and if you've been wanting a better layout, new floors or a fresh color, this is the moment to do it.

Keep moisture, and mold, down.
Control basement humidity
A dehumidifier in a damp basement makes a real difference, especially in a humid New Jersey summer.
Run the bath fan
Run bathroom exhaust fans during showers and for a while after.
Fix small leaks fast
A drip under a sink or a weeping supply line can feed mold for months before it's noticed.
Dry wet materials quickly
If something gets wet, dry it right away or remove it. Wet drywall and carpet shouldn't sit.

Mold remediation FAQs
What causes mold in a house?
Moisture. Leaks, flooding, damp basements and poor ventilation give mold what it needs to grow. Fixing the moisture source is as important as removing the mold.
Can I just clean mold off the wall?
Small spots on hard, non-porous surfaces can sometimes be cleaned. Mold in drywall, insulation or carpet usually has to be removed, and the moisture causing it has to be fixed or it tends to return.
Do you repair the walls after mold removal?
Yes. Our remodeling crew installs new drywall, flooring, trim and paint after the affected materials are removed.
Is mold remediation connected to water damage?
Very often. Many mold jobs start with a leak, a flood or a damp basement, so we look at the water problem as part of the remediation.
What areas do you serve for mold remediation?
Warren and Somerset County, plus Union, Morris, Middlesex, Hunterdon, Monmouth, Ocean and Hudson counties.
Often handled together.
